For over 150 years, the YMCA has been benefiting young men and women across the world by providing them with the academic, emotional, and social support that they need to succeed. The Y of Central Maryland, which benefits over 350,000 Marylanders, is headquartered right here in Baltimore — and here at CyberPoint we are extremely proud to be able to work with such an innovative and wide-reaching organization.
From community programs for at-risk youth to after school enrichment to youth sports lessons, the Y contributes greatly to the well-being of the Maryland community. They share many of CyberPoint's values, such as a passion for community outreach and education, and when the organization announced their 2015 "Send A Kid to Camp" fundraiser, we knew that we wanted to get involved!
The YMCA offered raffle prizes to those who donated to their "Send a Kid to Camp" campaign and CyberPoint won the grand prize Orioles package that included a meet-and-greet with player Adam Jones. Our employee who won the grand prize thought it would be a great way to raise additional funds from coworkers and offered the prize to those who joined us in donating. As a result, CyberPoint was able to raise a whopping $2,260 in donations, which means we had the honor of giving 10 children from disadvantaged communities the opportunity to have a fun, safe, and educational summer camp experience. We were lucky to be able to contribute to such a great cause, and the "Send A Kid to Camp" event is only one of many activities that the Y holds to help better the Maryland community.
