On July 27th, 2011, researcher, entrepreneur, and executive Rebecca "Becky" Bace spoke as part of the CyperPoint Speaker series. She discussed her experiences in the domains of intrusion detection and vulnerability analysis, the work she's done transitioning those technologies into the commercial marketplace, and her decade-long stint building a security portfolio for one of Silicon Valley's tier 1 venture capital firms.

One of the world's foremost authorities on information security, Bace was present at the creation of the modern disciplines of intrusion detection and vulnerability analysis. Her work has set national standards for network security, and her publications on intrusion detection, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment are generally considered definitive guides to professional practice. Information Security Magazine has named her one of the industry's top ten security professionals and one of the five most influential women in security.
